Situated deep inside the jungle of Borneo, far from the touristic area the quiet and serene Deramakot offers higher chances of spotting Borneo's precious wildlife.

Deramakot Forest Reserve is managed in accordance with good forestry practices. Realising the reality of forest depletion, the Sabah Forestry Department with technical support from the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) of Germany, have developed a management system aimed at responsible production of timber for logged over forestlands in 1989. The system requires substantial investments in forest planning, infrastructure, low impact harvesting equipment, and training of foresters, managers and forest workers in new techniques.

This is not your average touristic sight. . not many tourist know or go to deramakot however its popularity has increase the past 2 years.
ITINERARY

Day 01 Kota Kinabalu - Telupid - Deramakot F. R

0800 hrs Pick up from hotel at Kota Kinabalu and drive 4 hours to Telupid town located at the eastern part of Sabah Borneo.

Lunch(Local Shop)

1245 hrs After lunch the journey continues about 4 hours to Deramakot forest reserve through bumpy unpaved road.

1700 hrs Check in (chalet with attached bathroom, toilet, heater with shower) shower and rest.

1900 hrs Enjoy BBQ dinner prepared by your guide.

2100 hrs Night drive

Day 02 Deramakot F. R - Upper Kinabatangan

0600 hrs Morning drive (3 hours for 24 kilometers into the primate zone)
0900 hrs Rest/Free at leisure.

1200 hrs Lunch at the chalet.

1300 hrs Depart from the chalet for the 2nd afternoon drive for 3 hours (29 kilometers) through the elephant zone.

1600 hrs The afternoon drive ended up at the upper Kinabatangan river. followed by dinner Camping style.

2000hrs - Proceed for another night dive.

Day 03 Deramakot F. R - Telupid - Kota Kinabalu

0600 hrs Check out and exit. DFR

Delay will happen entering the deramakot area if it rains due to dirt road conditions.
